Whilst I don't agree with everything Naomi Chainey says, her account of two polarising stories from current NDIS participants is interesting, and illustrates the NDIS rollout is like fumbling around in the dark. I am confident they will get there and enhance the quality of life for everyone involved, but appropriate resources and patience are key.
"The bulk of care work still rests with Amorette who relies on a carer's pension to survive – approximately $7.50 per hour of caregiving – whilst also attempting to study and work part-time. Exhaustion has become part of her routine."
